# Intro to Paige's "Living" Websites

**Meta description:** Learn how Paige builds your living website, supports local and AI search, and helps you edit content, connect a domain, and publish updates.

Paige builds a website for your business and helps keep it growing with fresh content over time. Your website works alongside your Google Business Profile and the marketing Paige does for you, giving potential customers a place to learn about your business, explore your services, and take the next step.

This guide explains what makes your website “living,” where to find it, and how to customize and publish it.

## What makes your website living

Paige uses information from your existing website, your Google Business Profile, your business details in Paige, and content Paige creates to build your website. The result is designed to fit your business and support your local marketing from the start.

As more content becomes available, your website can grow with it. Approved FAQs appear according to your FAQ approval settings, and Paige features the latest YouTube video she creates for your business unless you choose a specific video instead.

Your website is mobile responsive, meaning it adjusts to phones, tablets, and computers. Its structure and content are designed to help search engines and AI search tools understand your business, so you can reach people looking for your services through Google Search, Google Maps, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other search experiences.

**Coming soon: automatic Google Business Profile updates.** This feature is in beta and is not yet live. It is planned to be available by **November 18, 2026**, so Paige can detect changes to business information, such as hours, phone numbers, and appointment links, and update your website accordingly. Until it is available, update these details on both your Google Business Profile and your website.

## Open your website

1. In Paige’s left menu, find **Automations**.
2. Click **Website and AI SEO**.
3. Use the dropdown in the top navigation of the website preview to choose which page you want to view or edit.

Paige typically takes about **3 minutes** to build a new website. Small changes to individual sections should usually finish in **under 20 seconds**. These are estimates, so some changes may take longer.

Your website’s **header** and **footer**, the areas at the top and bottom, are shared across its pages. Keep that in mind when editing them.

## Understand what Paige sets up for you

Paige creates pages suited to your business type, including service pages based on the services listed on your Google Business Profile. She also writes website content and sets up key search engine optimization (SEO) details.

| What Paige sets up | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Page titles and meta descriptions | Describe each page for search engines and potential visitors. |
| Main headings, including H1s | Give each page a clear main topic. |
| URL paths | Create the part of the website address that identifies each page. |
| Schema | Adds behind-the-scenes information that helps search systems understand your business and content. |
| Contact and booking buttons | Help visitors call or book using details from your Google Business Profile. |

These defaults give you a starting point designed around local SEO. Review your business information for accuracy and make changes where needed.

### Review SEO settings for a page

1. Use the page dropdown to select the page you want to review.
2. Click the **gear icon** at the top of the website preview.
3. Open **SEO**.
4. Confirm that you are viewing the settings for the correct page before editing.

Paige pre-populates these settings. We recommend keeping her suggestions unless you need to correct information or have a specific reason to change them.

## Edit your website

You can make simple edits directly on the preview or describe a larger change to Paige.

### Change text

Click the text you want to edit, then type your changes.

### Change an image

Click the image you want to replace. You can choose an existing image from your Paige media library, upload a new one, or generate a new image with AI.

### Change the design of a section

1. Find the section you want to update.
2. Open that section’s settings.
3. In **What would you like to change?**, describe the changes you want.

Be specific about colors, layout, spacing, or other preferences. For example: “Make the background light blue, keep the heading dark, and place the Call Now button below the text.”

### Change the whole website

1. Click a section to open its editing options.
2. Change the top toggle to **Whole Site**.
3. Describe how you want the website to look.

For example: “Use a clean design with a white background, navy headings, rounded buttons, and more space between sections.”

You can also ask Paige to change your fonts here. If you prefer to manage fonts through code, use the **Custom Code** settings described below.

## Check your business details and contact options

Paige builds your website from the business information available to her. If something looks incorrect, check your Google Business Profile, your business settings in Paige, and any other source that may contain the old information. Correct the website too, so visitors see accurate details.

### Call and appointment buttons

Buttons such as **Call Now** and **Book Appointment** use the phone number and relevant links on your Google Business Profile. You can change the buttons through the website’s change editor. If the underlying phone number or booking link has changed, update your Google Business Profile as well.

### Attributes on your homepage

Paige may display business attributes in the **hero section**, the main section at the top of your homepage.

- To hide an attribute on your website, click it and select the **eye icon**. You can keep the attribute on your Google Business Profile.
- To change the order, drag and drop the attributes.
- To add a custom attribute, use the website’s attribute options. Custom attributes added here stay on your website because Google Business Profile does not support custom attributes.

### Your business logo

Your website uses the logo saved in your business settings in Paige. To replace it:

1. Open the **Businesses** tab in Paige.
2. Click **View Details** for the relevant business.
3. Click **Settings** in the top right.
4. Upload your new logo.

**This updates the logo Paige uses for your business’s other marketing too.**

For the best result, use a horizontal logo with a transparent background and little empty space around it. Avoid white text or white design elements, which may be difficult to see against a light background. Exact dimensions are less important than a clear, closely cropped image.

### Contact form submissions

By default, contact form submissions go to the **admin user on your Paige account**.

To send them somewhere else, click the form on your website and change the **submissions email address** to the address you want to use.

## Manage FAQs, videos, and other content

Your website can display reviews, FAQs, posts, and videos when there is content available to show. If one of these sections is missing, check whether your business has content for it yet. Sections can appear as relevant content becomes available.

**FAQs:** Approved FAQs appear on your website according to your FAQ approval settings.

**Videos:** By default, Paige embeds the latest YouTube video she creates for your business. To keep a particular video on your website:

1. Click the video section.
2. Enter the **YouTube video URL** you want to show.

That choice overrides the default selection of Paige’s latest video.

## Add tracking codes, chat widgets, or custom styling

Paige tries to find and copy tracking codes from your existing website when she builds the new one. These may include Google Analytics and tracking for Google or Meta ads.

**Always check that the codes you need were copied correctly.** Paige may not be able to detect every code.

To review or add code:

1. Click the **gear icon** at the top of the website preview.
2. Open **Custom Code**.
3. Choose the relevant area: **Custom CSS**, **Head Code**, or **Footer Code**.
4. Enter your code manually, or choose the option to generate it and describe what you want Paige to do.

You can use these settings for styling, tracking pixels, chat widgets, and other embeds. If a service gives you an installation code, include that code and its placement instructions so Paige has the details she needs.

**Custom code applies across your website**, rather than to just the page currently selected in the preview.

Built-in website analytics are planned. In the meantime, connect Google Analytics to track your website’s performance.

## Choose your website address and visibility

Paige initially hosts your website at an address like **your-slug.biz.page**. This gives your business a website even if you are keeping your existing site.

You can keep that address or connect a domain you own, such as your current website’s domain.

### Connect your own domain

1. Click the **gear icon** at the top of the website preview.
2. Open **Visibility**.
3. Follow the domain connection setup.
4. Use the **one-click domain manager**, or follow the instructions to connect it manually.
5. Complete any requested DNS changes. DNS settings tell your domain where to find your website.

Once connected, the Paige website will be the website visitors see at that address. Most websites should be live on the connected domain within **5 minutes**, although some may take **up to 30 minutes**.

If you have entered the requested DNS settings correctly and your website still is not live after **1 hour**, contact live chat and ask for a human.

You can return to **Settings → Visibility** to change the connected domain later.

### Change website visibility

If you do not want your Paige website to be available for search crawling:

1. Click the **gear icon**.
2. Open **Visibility**.
3. Turn off **Your website is live**.

This is the website’s visibility control for restricting search crawling. We recommend leaving your website live if you want search engines and AI search tools to discover its content.

## Publish your changes

As you edit, click **Publish** in the top right of the preview regularly.

Publishing saves your changes and prompts Paige to check for changes that could harm your website’s SEO. Review any suggestions she provides.

Publishing after a few changes at a time also makes it easier to identify which edit caused a concern and change it back if needed. Aim for a website that reflects your business, is easy to use, and keeps the useful content and structure Paige created.

## Understand an AI search warning

If Paige reports that your existing website is blocked by AI search, it means Paige could not crawl, or automatically read, the website during her check.

This may indicate restrictions on automated visitors, which could also affect AI search tools. It does not confirm that every service, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity, is blocked. If you need help understanding the warning, contact our team through live chat.
